Organizational Philosophy
Mission:
Resolving Social Issues
The Tokyo Foundation resolves social issues in cooperation with diverse stakeholders. In the current era, where socioeconomic systems are undergoing significant transformations and the future is uncertain, it is impossible for a single organization or country to address increasingly complex and sophisticated social issues alone. In this context, we facilitate collaboration among stakeholders with diverse roles, including those in politics, administration, business, academia, media, and civil society. In this way, we fulfill our fundamental purpose of social contribution and work collaboratively with them toward resolving social issues.
Vision:
Realizing a society where people can feel hope and happiness
The Tokyo Foundation values the life of each and every individual and contributes to creating a social system where everyone can have hope and pursue happiness.
We actively engage with society and conduct our business activities with a focus on the daily practices shaping our social fabric.
We aim to create a better society where all citizens and residents from diverse backgrounds can live fulfilling lives, and where the next generation who will shape the future can have hope and pursue happiness.
Values:
Long-term vision and creative thinking
The Tokyo Foundation engages in its business activities with creative thinking and a long-term perspective as an independent, private, non-profit think tank.
We explore and propose optimal solutions to social issues with creative thinking, remaining unbiased by specific organizations or ideologies in the execution of our work.
Furthermore, we utilize stable financial resources to engage in our business activities from a long-term perspective, unconstrained by short-term results.
Leveraging these strengths, we contribute to guiding the future of Japan, and ultimately the world, in a better direction.
