Bio
My specialty is epidemiology and biostatistics. I was in charge of an exhaustive survey of the use of psychiatric services in Japan, providing statistical information necessary for policy-making and using the survey data to evaluate policy in mental healthcare in Japan for more than 10 years at the National Institute of Mental Health, National Center of Neurology and Psychiatry (NCNP). As a visiting professor at the Research Center for Medical and Health Data Science, Institute of Statistical Mathematics, I have trained advanced experts in biostatistics and human resources through statistical education. I have also been working to improve the quality of research in clinical trials of psychiatric and neurological disorders and epidemiological studies of non-communicable diseases through the application of statistical causal inference methods at NCNP, National Center for Global Health and Medicine, and the University of Tokyo. Through these activities, I hope to utilize data in contributing to the realization of a well-being society for everyone.
