Bio
Dr. Ryo Watanabe is a professor at the School of Health Innovation, Kanagawa University of Human Services. His journey in healthcare administration began at Ohio University, followed by a business internship at Cleveland Clinic. After working for an international hospital consulting firm for four years in Japan, he pursued further education at the University of Tokyo, focusing on the equity of healthcare access within the realms of clinical epidemiology and economics, and earned his Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) in 2011. Dr. Watanabe then advanced his studies at Hitotsubashi University, where he obtained a Ph.D. in Business Administration in 2015, with a thesis on the application of the Balanced Scorecard (BSC) in healthcare institutions. His career path included significant contributions at Tokyo Medical University and Kanagawa Prefectural Office before his current academic position, where he dedicates himself to the fields of health policy and healthcare management.
