Bio
After graduating from Niigata University Dental School in 2005, Dr. Kumagai finished Esthetic Dentistry Fellowship program, Advanced Education in Prosthodontics program, and earned his Master of Science at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. He became an American Board-certified prosthodontist in 2012. After returning to Japan, he joined Hiyoshi Oral Health Clinics (Sakata, Yamagata), and founded Hiyoshi Oral Health Clinics Shiodome (Minato, Tokyo) in 2020. He practices and popularizes “Prevention based high quality dental care” both in Sakata (Yamagata) and Minato (Tokyo). He was also appointed as an adjunct instructor at Tufts University from 2010 to 2015, a part-time lecturer at Niigata University from 2013 to 2017, a part-time lecturer at Tokyo Institute of Technology from 2015 to 2016, and a committee member of the“Future innovation working group”held by the Japanese government (MHLW and METI) in 2019. Dr. Kumagai leads transformation of the dental field as a young pioneer of preventive dental care in Japan.
