The Tokyo Foundation for Policy Research hosted a webinar highlighting the emergency proposals authored principally by Research Director Keiichiro Kobayashi and Hitotsubashi University Professor Motohiro Sato that was originally uploaded on the Foundation’s Japanese website on March 17 (read the English summary of the proposals here).

The webinar, recorded (in Japanese) at the Foundation’s office on April 16, provided updates on the measures taken since the proposals were issued and offered responses to the many comments on specific proposals made by both economists and through social media by members of the general public.

As of April 16, 44 eminent economists have endorsed most of the proposals. The webinar was organized in the light of the state of emergency announced following the outbreak of COVID-19, but the Tokyo Foundation for Policy Research will continue posting online webinars even after we resume the hosting of forums as real events.
